TEA DETAILS
Dry Leaf: Whole leaf, lightly rolled chocolate brown leaves with plenty of ivory tips
Aroma: Sweetness of ripe tropical fruits, a touch of green, and hints of citrus blossom
Colour of Liquor: Light Gold
Flavour of the Tea: Smooth fruity sweetness, flavours the tea. There is an intoxicating note of orange blossom and lily which will take over the senses towards the end, this gets, stronger by the sip and lingers through the finish.
Compliments: Because of the extremely subtle flavour of white teas, we recommend pairing them with only the mildest of flavours.
Brewing Instructions: Always use fresh water. Bring water to near boiling point. Take one teaspoon of tea leaves in a cup. Pour the heated water and steep the tea for 5 mins. Adjust the time of brewing as per desired strength. Leaves can be steeped multiple times till it gives flavour.
Tea Master Recommendation: Not to be had with milk. Always use fresh water. Do not use re-boiled water. The brewed leaves can be steeped multiple times with an increase in steeping time. Sip it when it cools down a little instead of boiling hot for enhanced flavour.
About the Garden: Thurbo was established in 1872, it nestles in the shadows of the mighty Kanchenjunga. The hills and peaks of Nepal are visible from here. Streams and rivulets mark its boundaries. The Mechi and Rangbang rivers in the south and north respectively, gurgle down to the plains. Orange orchards and orchid farms nearby, lend the garden an exotic charm. They manufacture some of the best teas in Darjeeling which are sought after by Royalty and tea boutiques.
